“The public cloud service market is expected to reach $623.3 billion by 2023 worldwide”.
This statement is enough to prove the gigantic presence of cloud computing in the IT industry.  Cloud adoption is no more a matter of if, but what and when- as almost half of the enterprises spend more than $1.2 Million on cloud services annually. As currently, each application development focuses on becoming agile & innovative by reducing costs, it is necessary to check the possibility of using the cloud-platform for your company.

In some cases, companies will use multiple providers within different parts of their operations- called a “multi-cloud approach”. The well-known cloud computing platforms are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and the newly introduced-Google Cloud. Starting from the AWS platform, it is known as “an innovator of online commerce”, because it would develop a robust cloud computing platform for a company. On the next side, Azure is known as an integrated platform for companies that already rely on Windows. The Linux-friendly feature of Azure makes it tough for the competitors. A recent newcomer in the list of the most popular cloud platforms is Google Cloud. It supports several generations of Linux to Windows server versions up to 2016. After 2018, it had expanded to 20+ regions- each with a minimum of three zones.

This is the reason why companies are comparing only these three providers while opting for cloud-computing for their business. When you connect with a leading vendor, you can look for increased growth, stable tech support, and a gradually growing talent pool. There are other factors to consider –

  • Storage, Database & Backup services

Cloud computing offers a complete range of services like cloud storage, cloud database & cloud backup to access, store, analyze your data. All three have their services for the same.

This is the area where AWS does dig into offering a hybrid platform through its storage gateway along with S3, EBS, EFS & snowball edge. AWS also provides several SQL-supported databases, DynamoDB, Aurora, and ElastiCache features to provide additional memory and a Glacier as a data backup service.

Azure consists of blob storage, file storage, queue storage, disk storage & data lake storage for a storage solution in the cloud. For database management, they are having services like SQL database, database warehouse, cosmos DB, radis cache, data factory & many more. Archival storage, site recovery & recovery backups are there for backup services.

Google Cloud provides the same storage solution for cloud computing as what GCP offers to their customers in compute department. Google Cloud storage solution includes transfer appliance, transfer service & cloud storage. For database services, there are cloud spanner, cloud bigtable & cloud datastore. nearline & coldline handles the backup services in Google Cloud.

  • Cloud Provider Computation

There are a few parts that every one of the three cloud providers shares, including the level of adaptability, speed, secure cloud, and deftness. Their computational services are the place where the difference could be a major issue.

AWS has a wide availability of services, and it has dominated the market with cloud-provided computations like AWS beanstalk, amazon lightsail, AWS batch, AWS lambda & AWS fargate. But EC2 remains AWS’s flagship compute service with secure and resizable cloud capacity. Anyhow, Azure has the plus of in-built adaptability as many companies perform daily operations on MS products. Azure has cloud services for scalable web applications that are similar to Elastic Beanstalk of AWS. Azure also offers services like Fabric that are designed for applications with microservices architecture. In comparison with these two, Google cloud’s computation is a little bit shorter.  Google-backed cloud provider offering computations services like google app engine, instant groups, GPUs, & Knative.

  • Key Tools

Tool for cloud-computing is like a sailor for the boat. Cloud computing as itself a platform to perform all the cloud services but with better navigation from tools- it gets easier & convenient for cloud services. One thing in common between these three cloud providers is advancing AI and machine learning technology. Here, we compare the platforms in terms of AI/ML, serverless & IoT networking.

  • Pricing

Cloud pricing comparison of top cloud providers has always been difficult due to frequent price changes and it’s very much based on needs. Here we describe the price range of AWS, Azure & Google Cloud.

  • AWS
  • Minimum- 2 Virtual CPU & 8GB RAM- $69/Month
  • Maximum- 128 Virtual CPU & 3.84TB RAM- $3.97/Hour
  • Azure
  • Minimum- 2 Virtual CPU & 8GB RAM- $70/Month
  • Maximum- 128 Virtual CPU & 3.89TB RAM- $6.79/Hour
  • Google Cloud
  • Minimum- 2 Virtual CPU & 8GB RAM- $52/Month
  • Maximum- 160 Virtual CPU & 3.75TB RAM- $5.32/Hour
  • Big names that use their cloud Services

As AWS is an experienced player in the market, several big names like Netflix, BMW, Unilever, AirBNB, MI & Samsung end up using AWS as their cloud provider. Azure cloud is known as a runner in the cloud market as it covers almost 80 percent of fortune 500 companies in their pocket. The list includes high-profile names like Apple, HP, Polycom & Johnson controls.Google shares a similar framework as that of Google Search and YouTube and, therefore, some top of the line organizations like HSBC, PayPal, twentieth Century Fox, Bloomberg, Dominos have placed their confidence in Google Cloud.

  • Strengths

Although AWS is an experienced player-it having the greatest global reach, a good track record of reliable services with flexible options. These qualities of AWS make it an ideal cloud provider. On the other hand, Azure offers a hybrid solution. Azure provides easy first-time cloud migrations, that helps startups & developers. In a few words, Azure is a great deal for window-based companies. Google Cloud has done a decent job as a newcomer cloud service provider by offering a complete container-based model & reducing costs. It creates an ideal scenario for creators of cloud-based apps & software.

Future

We can’t predict the future, but we can certainly play a game of speculation. AWS recently introduced the virtual private cloud (VPC). It enables the customizing feature that reverse DNS for their elastic IP addresses. Azure is already more than just a cloud. It has become a critical infrastructure for the connected world and will be one of the major enablers of the next technology wave, data, and AI.  Google Cloud works on its performance & makes it the most cost-efficient and eco-conscious option for new startups & businesses.

Wrapping up,
It would be better to say that it’s not about choosing the best cloud providers, rather it’s about choosing the best-suited cloud provider as per your requirements. All three cloud platforms AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud are unique in their own way and offer a bunch of options for organizations to select from based on their specific needs.
