Batbatian has been in the real estate industry for more than a decade. Primary area of business is Montreal, Laval, LaSalle and nearby suburbs. Having a wordpress website and running campaigns online to bring traffic, client has realized the potential of lead generation through website. 

Batbatian came to blobstation to build a real estate marketplace where agents can publish property for sale/rent and website visitors can see it. He also wanted to have a lead generation funnel to get visitor information and try to convert it into a customer. Static wordpress website was in two languages French and English.

SOLUTION

A web portal where potential customers can checkout available properties for sale or rent

The Blobstation team took this opportunity to build a web application which will bring value to website visitors by providing a list of available properties for sale and rent. The whole application development process has been initiated by having brainstorming sessions with the client himself. The property detail page has been designed to display all required information easily with good user experience. Images, maps and virtual tours are integrated to bring interactive experience to visitors. 

Visitors are being offered to fill out a form to get more details about the property and schedule a visit. By having analytics integrated on a webpage, agents at batbatian can determine things which users interact the most. The backend of the portal has the ability to add property by providing all required fields. 

Along with that, the application backend is web hooked with one property feed provider. The system architecture is built in a way to accommodate multiple feed providers with ease.

Development Methodology

Blobstation has followed Agile development methodology. Daily scrum meetings to discuss things which are done, in progress and blocker if any. Also weekly sprint meetings to decide on upcoming week’s scope. Tech lead also presented a demo every end of the sprint to give the progress report and collect early feedback.

Resources

Batbatian web portal project started with UI/UX for the first 2 weeks. One dedicated designer worked very closely with a client representative to work on flow. In parallel, two backend developers started building the foundation for project core logic. Two frontend developers worked in sync with backend developers to integrate proposed UI/UX. One project manager used to keep track of tasks and time taken to complete them.

Engagement Model

Blobstation has proposed a Time & Material engagement model with resources  allocated based on needs. Each resource has been given specific tasks with a timeline attached to it. 

Timeline

The whole project developed in 3 months after finalizing the requirements. It took 5 brainstorming sessions to translate ideas on paper and then after dividing the whole implementation in phases.
