Lavasoft has been working with software publishers and advertisers by offering multiple products to monetize users. For this, lavasoft reaches out to different software publishers and advertisers and proposes the product solutions to integrate. This process is very much manual and tedious. Also, it does require daily efforts to make sure not missing out on potential customers.
The initial project discussion was to brainstorm possible solutions to automate this process. Also, one of the important factors discussed about scaling the platform down the road to support more features. Few third party tools such as hubspot, snov.io , parsehub etc are reviewed to integrate with proposed solution.

A scraper to parse software publishers details from download portals and manage via web portal
The Blobstation team took this opportunity to build a solution which includes multiple third party tools integration via API. First, the team has identified download portal websites which can be lead sources for the portal. For each download portal, parsehub scraping API integrated with a webhook connecting to the database at lead collector portal. The scheduler has been set up for daily runs to scrap and store leads.
Lead collector portal users have the ability to check all leads from various sources at one place. Each lead details includes contact information about the lead along with softwares provided by it.
For contact information, based on lead domain, snov.io api is integrated to fetch people information along with their contact details. After the lead is in the portal, the user can send the lead detail to the hubspot application.
Blobstation has followed Agile development methodology. Daily scrum meetings to discuss things which are done, in progress and blocker if any. Also weekly sprint meetings to decide on upcoming week’s scope. Tech lead also presented a demo every end of the sprint to give the progress report and collect early feedback.
Lead collector web portal project started with UI/UX for the first 2 weeks. One dedicated designer worked very closely with a client representative to work on flow. In parallel, one backend developer started building the foundation for project core logic. One frontend developer worked in sync with backend developers to integrate proposed UI/UX. One project manager used to keep track of tasks and time taken to complete them.
Blobstation has proposed a retainer engagement model with dedicated resources working on a project full time. Each resource has been given specific tasks with a timeline attached to it.
The whole project developed in 4 months after finalizing the requirements. It took 3 brainstorming sessions to translate ideas on paper and then after dividing the whole implementation in phases.
