Increase brand awareness and online sales of european premium footwear brand in north american market

LemonJelly has been in the fashion industry mainly with women’s footwear for a few years. With headquarters in Europe, LemonJelly had little market share and brand awareness in North America. Traffic on the website was reasonable but conversion to actual orders was below average.

LemonJelly came to blobstation to work and optimize existing website. The goal of the assignment was to continuously work on website optimization and improve user experience as well. Given that brand already has presence in Europe, user interface changes needed to be aligned with existing branding guidelines. Website had very little search engine  optimization as well and organic traffic to the website was very limited.

A modern e-commerce website with best user experience to increase sales in relatively new geography 

The Blobstation team took this opportunity to optimize the website and increase sales. First and foremost, the team has performed site audit to validate the current state. Based on the audit report, the team has prepared an action plan for the first 4 weeks. This first phase of action items included site foundation enhancements such as page speed issues, css/js normalization, sitemap fixes etc. After that, the team has worked on the second phase which included ecommerce improvements. We worked on UX changes to make the product page more attractive and informative at the same time. 

We also have integrated google analytics. That helped understand visitor behaviour and made it possible to get insights about user acquisition and reporting.

We created landing pages on the website and ran campaigns to bring traffic on it. Overall website domain authority got improved and user retention increased.

Development Methodology

Blobstation has followed Agile development methodology. Daily scrum meetings to discuss things which are done, in progress and blocker if any. Also weekly sprint meetings to decide on upcoming week’s scope. Tech lead also presented a demo every end of the sprint to give the progress report and collect early feedback.

Resources

Lemonjelly project started with Site audit and developer along with SEO experts got involved in the first phase. After that one web developer assigned on retainer basis for day to day development and enhancements.

Engagement Model

Blobstation has proposed a hybrid ( retention + time & material ) model. In which one web developer is assigned on a full time retainer basis. Other resources such as UI/UX Designer, SEO expert etc  allocated based on needs. Each resource has been given specific tasks with a timeline attached to it.

The whole project is continuously in the development phase. Based on objectives, team comes up with strategy and work implementation throughout the quarter.
