A quick way to book a courier pickup & delivery for business customers of Vnp transport
Vnp transport has many business customers who need to courier their products/items a few times per day. All these customers are calling vnp transport agents to book a courier. Each time there is a courier pickup request, the agent will check in the system and will give a rough quotation for the same. Upon the booking confirmation, the agent will schedule a pick up by assigning a driver based on the availability. This whole process is very tedious and error prone. There is also a high dependency on availability of agents to pick up the call.
Vnp owner, Nemish Mehta, came to us to develop a solution to streamline the whole process for his customers as well as drivers. The goal of the solution is customers can order courier quickly and easily. Also, need the ability to assign the courier pick up to a driver. The pricing will need to be dynamic based on location, package type, weight, quantity etc.

SOLUTION
A web application to streamline the process starting from business customers ordering courier pickup & delivery services to assign it to driver
The Blobstation team took this opportunity to develop a solution for Vnp Transport. A solution which enables Vnp transport to serve as many business customers as possible. Our goal was to provide a solution which not only helps customers to book couriers but also Vnp agents to assign drivers automatically.
We came up with three different types of user roles for this portal. 1. Business Customers 2. Vnp agents 3. Vnp administrators. Each business customer will have their login given to them. One customer can have multiple logins for individuals.
Customers can create their favourite pickup and delivery locations for recurring couriers. Also they have been given the feature to set pickup for future dates and validate the pricing before confirming agents.

Development Methodology
Blobstation has followed Agile development methodology. Daily scrum meetings to discuss things which are done, in progress and blocker if any. Also weekly sprint meetings to decide on upcoming week’s scope. Tech lead also presented a demo every end of the sprint to give the progress report and collect early feedback.
Resources
Vnp web portal project started with UI/UX for the first 3 weeks. One dedicated designer worked very closely with Vnp representative to work on flow. In parallel, two backend developers started building the foundation for project core logic. Two frontend developers worked in sync with backend developers to integrate proposed UI/UX. One project manager used to keep track of tasks and time taken to complete them.
Engagement Model
Blobstation has proposed a Time & Material engagement model with resources allocated based on needs. Each resource has been given specific tasks with a timeline attached to it.
Timeline
The whole project developed in 4 months after finalizing the requirements. It took 4 brainstorming sessions to translate ideas on paper and then after dividing the whole implementation in phases.
